Modern decoration trends in an apartment's renovation in Athens

In Kavouri, a beautiful seaside suburb of Athens, a fabulous 80m2 flat was recently decorated by the Damcon Building Constructions company (damcon.co).

The owners, who live abroad, were in search of a small flat in the southern suburbs of Athens, near the sea, which would accommodate the family’s needs for short city breaks.

The flat is located on the 3rd floor of a well-preserved 1977 block; in this case, the challenge was how to make the house comfortable, functional and elegant - with small design interventions.

Observing the old flat floor plan, we can see a wall separating the kitchen from the living room.

The owners made the decision to remove it in order to create a single space.

By widening the window openings, they were able to acquire an unobstructed view of the infinite marine blue and the pine tree green.

The dark grey shade of the cabinets and island, combined with the oak wood on the shelves, complies with the ultimate new colour trends for 2019.

The extraordinary design of the kitchen’s big cabinet and island fully meets the requirements for storage and electrical appliances. The installation of an extractor hood by the Elica company offers the necessary decor touch, substitutes the use of extra hanging lights and boosts the minimal room aesthetics.

Cabinets were installed in such a way to connect the kitchen with the living room.

The furniture, provided by the BoConcept company (boconcept.com), comes in earthy tones,while the photographic material decorating the flat walls is provided by the wonderful Lumas gallery (lumas.com), creating superb wall art choices.

The bathroom and bedroom renovations were oriented towards the same concept, while great emphasis was placed in the study of architectural lighting in all the rooms.
