The Future of interior design is not new…. It is conscious.
The 2026–2027 trends that shape the home with depth, memory and emotion
When the Past Reveals the Future.
Maison & Objet 2026 did not talk about the new. It talked about the important.
With a thematic axis Past Reveals Future, this year's exhibition confirmed something we already felt: the design of the future does not seek rupture. It chooses memory, craft, reinterpretation. The past is not treated as an aesthetic archive, but as a creative tool.
2026–2027 trends are not defined by objects. They are defined by emotion. From spaces that have depth, materials that carry history and choices that are not made for an impression, but for duration.

Color with memory
The clearest turn is about color. Cold pallets recede and take their place warm, earthy tones with maturity and intensity.
Brown chocolate, caramel, terracotta, and clay act as a base, colors that embrace the space and create a sense of protection.
Next to them, ocher, amber, butter yellow and deep purple remain as accent tones. Not to dominate, but to add emotion when placed in moderation.
The red returns, but on different terms. Burgundy, wine and earthy reds replace the bright versions of the past, offering depth and drama without exaggeration.
The green is established as the new neutral. Olive, moss and matcha shades act as a natural continuation of the earth, calm, mature, timeless. Colors that don't shout, but stay.
The light blue goes great with it burgundy, for an image that combines childishness with luxury for an original and vintage inspired result.
As for the animal prints, we saw them on cushions, on selected furniture or as a small twist that breaks the monochrome.

Materials with presence
In the materials, we observe an interesting balance of contrasts. On the one hand, the strong return lacquer and chrome. Shiny surfaces, clean forms and sculptural objects that function as small works of art within the space. The silver it regains value, not as a cold element, but as a collectible detail balanced with natural textures.
On the other hand, the need for tactility is stronger than ever. Natural wood, stone, ceramics, matte fabrics and handmade details can create friendly spaces. The 2026 design doesn't shine, it has weight.
Silver travertine like a natural stone it comes powerfully into details of objects and compositions. Its naturalness matches perfectly with silver decorations and details.

Curves, organic forms and silent comfort
Curves rule. Organic shapes, fuller forms, low volumes and soft geometry soften the architecture and enhance the sense of intimacy. Sofas with rounded arms, curved openings, sculptural seats, all work in favor of comfort, not austerity.
The neo-classic is returning quietly, without nostalgia. More modern, cleaner, without decorative exaggeration. The reference to the past is there, but filtered through modern simplicity.

The aesthetics shaping 2026–2027
Certain currents clearly emerge from this philosophy.
The Poetcore brings back the shelter home. Bookcases, warm lighting, ceramics with imperfections and earth tones create spaces conducive to thought and silence.
The Neo Deco reinterprets Art Deco in modern terms: geometry, curves, deep colors and glossy finishes, without exaggeration.
The Afrohemian is emerging as one of the strongest trends. Natural materials, handmade objects, cultural references and palettes inspired by the earth. Decoration with soul, away from the mass.

The Opera Aesthetic brings drama and emotion. Velvet, burgundy, lacquers and intense lighting create an atmosphere not for the whole house, but for selected statement points.
Finally, the Brooched Details, small vintage details, bronze elements and objects reminiscent of heirlooms, work like jewels in the space.
Quiet luxury, otherwise
Behind all these trends there is a common basis: craftsmanship. Authentic materials, quality construction and durable options. Quiet luxury is no longer a fashion term; it's a lifestyle. Discreet, but essential. It is not visible at first glance, it is revealed with time.

The future of decoration
The design of 2026–2027 does not ask you to follow trends. It requires you to choose consciously. To create spaces that express you, and that have a reason to exist.
At Hintsdeco, this transition speaks volumes for us. Selected objects, modern forms, and deep respect for the material and its history.
Because after all, the future of decoration is not new.
It is conscious.
