On a trip to London seven years ago, I came across absolute deco beauty at a department store!
A nine-metre-high living wall, covered with plants and flowers, started low, one floor below ground, and rose to the second floor.
Unique inspiration and priceless value, indeed!

The fabulous idea of vertical plantscapes in a building has fascinated me ever since, but now, I can safely say that it’s the new hot trend in decoration.
What are living green walls?

Green walls, otherwise called vertical gardens, are panels with plants growing vertically without the need of soil, while all the necessary nutrients are offered to the plants through water, using hydroponics.
A great variety of plants can be used on these living walls, based on the needs of each space or building and its maintenance.
In this way, we can combine a beautiful outcome, pure oxygen and considerable insulation from both noise and outside temperature.
By expanding green walls in height and using a great number of plants to cover them with, we can enjoy maximum benefit without reducing the free space on the floor.
The idea of a living green wall was first patented by Stanley Hart White in 1938. However, the name of Patrick Blanc is very well-known since he created the famous green walls of the Musee du Quai Branly, in Paris, truly revolutionising architecture.

Many more companies, including the Belgian firm Greenmood, took it a step further and created vertical gardens and uniqueworks of art made of natural plants that do not need maintenance.
Greenmood introduced a new, pioneering design technique for plants that require no pruning, watering or sunlight.
Using a unique process of plant care and maintenance, the expert company teamdesign green walls, works of art and various other decorative objects.

Hint:
If you’re in search of inspiration for your bathroom or kitchen tiles, consider the idea of a living green wall and install a vertical stripe in the shower or on a wall next to the dining table. This decorative element alone is enough to renew your house and boost your summer mood!
